The Rare Earth Summit 2010 was successfully held by Asian Metal and the co-organizer of China Minmetals Rare Earth Co., Ltd on April 23rd in Beijing.

More than 170 representatives from around 130 companies attended the summit. Attendees represented were from the major rare earth enterprises in China, including China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd, Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare Earth International Trading Co., Ltd, Sichuan Jiangtong Rare Earth Co., Ltd, Guangdong Rising Nonferrous Metals Import & Export Co., Ltd., China Metallurgical Imp. & Exp. Guangdong Company, Gansu Rare Earth New Material Co., Ltd, Ganzhou Qiandong Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd, Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Hefa Co., Ltd, Jiangxi South Rare Earth Hi-tech Co., Ltd; the major international enterprises from upstream and downstream industries, such as Treibacher Industrie AG Co., Ltd, Rhodia, GE Lighting, Osram, Avalon Rare Metals Inc, Nicha Corporation, Sojitz Co., Ltd., Santoku Battery Materials Co., Ltd; and the plants from the rare earth downstream industries in China.

On the morning of April 23rd, the Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd, Huang Kang, addressed the welcome speech. Then, Huo Jianguo, the Dean of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation did a report about ˇ°Chinese Strategic Thinking on Rare Earth Industryˇ±, Zhu Baoliang, the Chief Economist of Economic Forecasting Department of China State Information Center did a report about ˇ°China Economic Analysis and Outlook for 2010ˇ±, Liao Chunsheng, General Manager of China Minmetals (Beijing) Research Institute of RE Co., Ltd, did a report on ˇ°Rare Earth Separation Technology Research Progressˇ±, Zhang Anwen, Deputy Secretary-General of Inner Mongolia Rare Earth Guild, gave a speech on the ˇ°Rare Earth Industry Situation and Prospect in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regionˇ±, and Pierre Neatby, Manager of Marketing and Sales of Avalon Rare Metals, Inc, did a presentation about ˇ°The Growing Demand for Rare Earths and a Canadian Supply Solutionˇ±.

In the afternoon of April 23rd, Chen Ya, Deputy General Manager of Tianhe (Tianjin) Advanced Tech Magnet Co., Ltd, did a presentation about ˇ°The Development and Prospect of Rare-earth Permanent Magnetsˇ±, Tang Yinxuan, General Manager of Hangzhou Daming Fluorescent Material Co., Ltd, gave a speech of ˇ°Current Situation and Prospect for Rare Earth Phosphor Materialsˇ±, and Jack Lifton, Chief Executive Officer of Jack Lifton LLC, did a report about ˇ°The Supply Issue for All Metalsˇ±.

The guests enthusiastically expressed their views, and delegates gathered new viewpoints from all the presentations. The conference ended in the afternoon after the long-waited hot discussion with many influential market players taking part.
