Asian Metal held “Rare Earth Summit 2012” in Ningbo, Zhejiang on 21-23th March, 2012 with the attendance of nearly 200 representatives from home and abroad
The Summit began at 9:00 in the morning of 22th March, Firstly, the minor metals business division Manager from Asian Metal, Xiaoxin Zhang delivered the opening speech for the summit. Secondly, Jianguo Huo, the dean of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, analyzed the current state and characters of economy and trade in accordance with the economy and trade background as well as our solutions in dealing with problems and challenges. He advocates participates to gather a full understanding of positive effects of foreign trade, to accelerate industrial arrangement, to create a fair competing environment and to further expand overseas market
Thirdly, Gerry He, the Marketing Minister of Fujian Changting Jinlong Rare Earth Co., Ltd, delivered a report on the development of rare earth industrial chain in Fujian. In his report, he introduced the general information recently of rare earth policies and Changting rare earth industrial park in Fujian, and the information of Xiamen Tungsten Group as well as Changting Jinlong Rare Earth Co. Ltd in Fujian. The report revealed a clear view of the development of the rare earth industry in Fujian.
Many participants are engaged in forging a complete industrial chain to win in the fierce competition in current rare earth industry. The commercial manager Ian Higgins from Less Common Metals Ltd analyzed in detail of current prices and supply of the material from procedures of mining to go to operation.
As from the latter half of 2011, demands from downstream industries for NdFeB magnets softened for rare earth, resulting in a slow industrial chain of the material. Xinnong Li, a member of the board of JLMAG Rare-Earth Co., Ltd analyzed the application of NdFeB magnets in energy conservation and new energy resources. His opinions were highly praised by attendees.
In the afternoon, General Manager of Japanese Material Trading Co. Ltd and Yukun Le, Vice General Manager of BOCI BOC International ( China ) Limited made a report on the turbulence over Japan 's rare earth market and capital and rare earth market respectively. They explain Japanese economic conditions, import volume of rare earth and their influence to future developments of Chinese rare earth industry.
Then, General Manager of Hangzhou Daming Fluorescent Material Co.,Ltd, Yinxuan Tang, analyzed rare earth fluorescent materials demand in 2012 and environmental protection and ecological restoration in rare earth mining in South China
At last, Brandon Tirpak, the analyst of rare earth market from American Office of Asian Metal, made a report on the demand and supply of the material in North America and forecasted the outlook of recent market.
