  • As an advocator and practitioner of industrializing magnesium alloy in China, senior engineer Jianyong Cao has been working in manufacturing management and operation of magnesium and magnesium alloy for nearly a decade. He founded Chongqing Magnesium S&T Co., Ltd and was appointed to be GM by 2000. He led his team to firstly apply magnesium alloy in motorcycle parts and then use it in dynamic tools, auto parts and machinery section with mass production. Cao has held the post of executive member of China Magnesium Association, member of China Materials Research Society and vice chairman of China Metal Working Society, posting and participating in “the Tenth Five-Year” and “the Eleventh Five-Year” important science and technology projects and 863 magnesium alloy project. He was awarded second prize of 2011 scientific and technological progress and ministerial level advanced individual of China Non-ferrous Metals Association and he has more than ten invention patent and utility model patent on magnesium alloy. Cao also participates in formulation of six national standards including State Magnesium Alloy Safety Production. He established Chongqing Boao Magnesium Company and held the post of Chairman in 2006 and made the company survive the price hikes of global magnesium materials and financial crisis during 2008 and 2009. The company has received a large amount of orders from world-famous automobile and electric tools producers and achieved vast export to Europe and North America, being a well-known enterprise with the largest production scale and product category.

  • Sen Cheng, Deputy General Manager in Magnesium Yinhe, graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology and then studied in Germany. After he came back to China, he joined Magnesium Yinhe bringing in advanced technologies and management experiences. When Chengsen was in the position of production management, he worked in founding, roller milling, surface treating plants and R&D department. Therefore, he gained considerable practical experiences and combined it with advanced theories.

When construction of all the above projects are completed, there will be more than 2,000 employees enrolled and the value of the Group’s fixed assets will be almost RMB 1.5 billion, and the estimated annual value of production will be RMB 4 billion. The business of magnesium ingot export run by the Group will obtain foreign exchange of almost USD 20 million per year.
The magnesium metal production line of Tianyu Group has been approved by ISO9001 quality management system in 2009, and has been put on the list for the first batch of companies approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC for the access into the magnesium industry.

In April, Asian Metal held the 6th World Magnesium Forum in Kunming of Yunnan from April 12-14, 2017 sponsored by Shaanxi Tianyu Magnesium Group Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Wenxi Zhenxin Magnesium Co., Ltd., covering topics of magnesium metal, magnesium powder, magnesium alloy, magnesium alloy die-casting, extrusion and aluminum alloy. The forum is widely supported by market participants from the magnesium industry and nearly 200 representatives both at home and abroad attended forum.
