Lead and Zinc Summit 2011

April 20-22, 2011 Lijiang, China
Overview
The sovereign debt crisis has kept European markets stagnant and industrial activity muted throughout 2012. Will the EU achieve substantial economic recovery in 2013? Increasingly positive signs were seen in the US economy throughout the year as unemployment reached its lowest level in three years and investor confidence slowly increased. Can the American economy see sustainable recovery in 2013? China has experienced economic slowdown, a sluggish export market, and weak internal demand in 2012. How will these issues be addressed by the new government chosen last November at the Eighteenth National People's Congress?
Prices of lead and zinc have remained low during much of 2012 and the smelting and mining sectors have declined sharply. As smelting expansion initiatives have slowed down, ore and concentrate stocks have become plentiful. Will lead and zinc buck the downward trend and rebound in 2013? What are the prospects of the lead, zinc and silver ores markets?
As the lead and zinc industry in China faces significant over-capacity and frequent contamination-related accidents, the country will have to to speed up industrial restructuring if it wants to eliminate backward capacity and advance integration of its lead and zinc mines. To what extent will Chinese companies embrace this culture of change?
Asian Metal will be holding its 2013 Lead, Zinc and Silver Ores Investment & Trade Forum in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province April 24-26, 2013. The event will provide a platform for in-depth discussion and free communication for producers, traders, smelters and investors from the lead, zinc, silver, and related-metals industries. Top experts and government decision-makers from China and the rest of the world will be invited to provide comprehensive analysis on the issues most critical to industry.
